Nursery
Warren Valley Nursery specialises in the production of Australian Native Farm Trees. Seedlings are mainly supplied to the South West region of Western Australia, from Northampton in the north to Kalgoorlie and Esperance in the east, with some orders sent to the eastern states. The Nursery is situated about 30km south-east of Manjimup, with a capacity of 500,000 seedlings. Established in 1989, the Nursery initially supplied Tasmanian Blue Gum (Euc. globulus globulus) seedlings for the establishment of plantations to supply wood chips. Increasing demand from farmers, Landcare Groups, nurseries and other private customers for different farm tree seedling species has seen the number of different species grown increase to over sixty. The reasons for these different trees are economic, environmental and visual. Seeding is carried out in late Spring and early Summer, with seedlings available in late Autumn and Winter. Seedlings are grown in 25ml peat pots, 72 or 80 to a tray. Growing is carried out in the open and the seedlings are hardened off. To ensure availability orders should be made as early as possible, preferably before seeding, which begins in November. Orders received before seeding qualify for a 10% discount. Seedlings may be collected or delivered. Prices are ex nursery and include GST. This site aims to provide information to assist in making an informed decision on seedling selection.
